Reading Separate Sieve References for Chili Ingredients

Separate sieve statements can appear beside a broad chili-powder description without defining one selected preparation. The useful purchasing task is to preserve each statement, establish what it measures and connect it to the material being considered. An annotated record makes that conversation clearer than combining the numbers into a new range.

Read the Notation and the Preparation Together

This worked reading exercise uses the dried raw red chili flakes for seasoning formulations catalogue reference. Its specification information contains two independent mesh references: 40-80mesh and 80/100mesh. They are unselected declared references, not an offered grade menu or measured acceptance result for a particular lot.

The candidate's concrete preparation is presented as flakes. A mesh statement does not by itself change that material into a fine powder. Confirm the applicable material fraction and actual supplied cut before using either notation in an order specification.

Give Each Reference Its Own Line

Source-bound notation exercise
Declared notationHow to retain itQuestion to resolve
40-80meshKeep as an independent declared reference.Which sieve standard, criterion, method, material fraction and lot scope does it describe?
80/100meshPreserve the slash notation unchanged. What does the slash mean in the applicable method, and which material fraction and lot does it cover?

The second notation should not be rewritten as an 80–100 range before its meaning is established. The two lines should not become a combined 40–100 range, and neither line alone establishes the selected grade for an order.

Ask for the Criterion Behind the Number

A useful sizing question names the material, the method and what the result is intended to describe. Ask which sieve standard is used, how the criterion is expressed, which fraction or preparation is assessed, and what supporting record applies.

If an answer introduces a different notation, retain the earlier reference and record the clarification alongside it. This keeps the discussion traceable and avoids making a technical change look like a simple spelling correction.

Confirm the Actual Selected Preparation

Once the meaning of each reference is clear, ask which actual cut or fraction is being considered for your request. Link that selection to the ingredient identity, complete composition and applicable method. A declaration about one material fraction should not automatically become a criterion for every part of a seeded preparation.

The form-selection guide sets out the wider questions for whole pods, flakes, powders, threads and seeds. Use it to keep the physical preparation clear while the detailed sizing discussion proceeds.

Keep Reference, Requirement and Evidence Separate

Use three fields in your procurement record. The first transcribes the independent source reference. The second states the buyer's required criterion. The third identifies the applicable supporting record and material or lot scope. A complete entry makes it possible to see whether the candidate has actually been considered against the requirement.

Do not infer a measured fineness from a photograph, a broad powder name or an unselected notation. Likewise, preparation or treatment wording needs to apply to the actual material; the sizing exercise does not establish a drying route, a performed treatment or a storage condition.

Put the Clarification into a Focused Enquiry

A practical message is: “Please clarify the independent 40-80mesh and 80/100mesh references for this ingredient, including the criterion, sieve standard, method, material fraction and applicable lot scope. Please identify the actual cut or fraction that can be considered for our requirement.” Add your own application, quantity and destination separately.

Use the document-review guide to organise the response, or send Relia an identified ingredient and sizing question.
